What is DPC?
The direct primary care model is an exciting and rapidly growing way to provide primary care without unnecessary and costly interference from health insurance companies.
With direct primary care, I keep my practice small in order to provide you with highly accessible, personalized care when and where you need it. It’s like having your doctor available at the touch of a button. My focus on ensuring a strong and satisfying doctor-patient relationship is the key to helping you stay healthy.
In fact, it’s the way I’ve always wanted to practice medicine, and what I envisioned when I chose family medicine as a career. I couldn’t be more excited to provide you with the care you deserve!
IMPORTANT NEWS FOR DIRECT PRIMARY CARE MEMBERS
The recently enacted One Big Beautiful Bill Act includes a major victory for Direct Primary Care (DPC) patients and physicians.
Beginning in 2026, qualifying Direct Primary Care membership fees may be paid using Health Savings Account (HSA) funds, and enrollment in a qualifying DPC membership will no longer prevent eligible individuals from contributing to an HSA.
For years, one of the limitations of federal tax law was that many DPC memberships were not recognized as qualified medical expenses for HSA purposes. The new legislation changes that and acknowledges what DPC physicians and patients have known all along:
Direct Primary Care is an important and valuable part of healthcare.
What this means for many patients:
• Qualifying DPC membership fees may be eligible for payment or reimbursement through an HSA.
• Eligible individuals may be able to maintain a Direct Primary Care membership while continuing to contribute to an HSA.
• Patients may be able to use pre-tax healthcare dollars to help cover their DPC membership costs.
At Morris Sussex Direct Family Practice, we believe this is a significant step forward for patient-centered healthcare. Direct Primary Care provides affordable, accessible, relationship-based medical care without the barriers and frustrations often associated with traditional insurance-based medicine.
If you currently participate in an HSA, we encourage you to discuss these changes with your accountant, tax professional, or financial advisor to determine how they may apply to your specific situation.
